| NMC has an opportunity for a Rental Service Technician in Columbus, NE. Reports to Service Manager. Under direct supervision, the rental service technician performs maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of equipment in a safe and professional manner. |
Duties: |
(1) Perform maintenance check on rental equipment before and after use for; damage, hours used, tires, mileage, fuel levels, safety decals, and safety compliance: and reports machine condition to Service Manager for appropriate billing of customer. Prepares new equipment for rent or sale (2) Perform, in a safe manner, minor repairs of rental equipment and tools including checking oil, grease, fluids and tagging of equipment for rental ready status and provides assistance to other technicians as needed. (3) Ensure rental availability of equipment.

Qualifications: |
Working Conditions: (1) Activities requiring handling and grasping with the hands when performing repairs or maintenance of equipment by utilizing hand tools, power tools, air tools, nuts, bolts, electronic controls, and other small parts. (2) Occasional use of foot/feet to operate foot pedal on equipment to test operation. (3) Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and seldom lifting up to 75 lbs. (4) Exposure to bright light, extreme temperature, loud noise, dust, gas, or fumes (5) Work in unprotected weather elements. (6) Ability to wear a respirator and/or hearing protection as required. (7) Ability to bend, kneel, and works with arms raised for prolonged periods of time. (8)Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 8 hours per day. (9) Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day. Other duties assigned as needed.
(1) High School diploma or equivalent. (2) Driver's license with acceptable driving record. (3) Entry level position. (4) Related maintenance experiences a plus. (5) Other Skills Required: (a) Basic verbal and written skills (b) Basic mechanical aptitude (c) Basic knowledge of tools (d) Demonstrated teamwork and customer service skills (e) Ability to understand rental cycle. (f) Must have own hand tools.
