Description:

NMC is looking for a Yard Person for our Rental Division in Omaha, NE.

Administrative:

Interacts with rental counter personnel throughout the day to support changing demand for equipment, which happens almost hourly.
Assists personnel in selection of equipment for each transaction.
Makes final inspection of equipment before customer receives it, verifying inventory ID number, fuel level.
Verifies fuel consumed and inspects all “details” of equipment when returned.
Installs “service tags” on equipment returned.
Moves equipment back to proper storage areas following routine maintenance procedures by service shop.
Customer Relations:

· Greets customers in yard, helping direct them to office or unloading areas.

· Assists customers and delivery drivers in loading and unloading equipment.

· Gives customers start/stop and general operating instructions on equipment.

Technical:

· Will be involved in performing light maintenance on equipment.

· Has good working knowledge of all equipment.

· Possesses sufficient mechanical skills to perform and/or recommend minor equipment repairs.

Objectives and Accountabilities for Yard Person

100% of units to be fueled, tagged and ready for inspection within 24 hours of return.
100% of appropriate check-in/check-out information to be properly documented and endorsed by the customer.
100% of management requests, special assignment or projects to be completed with in the specified time.
Yard to be cleaned and organized at all times. Minimum of one hour per day to be spent on housekeeping.
Other responsibilities
Position Profile:
Needs to demonstrate high levels of "customer service" to everyone in the company. Daily activities can be varied and sometimes working under pressure trying to get orders ready to go out.

Summary:
This position calls for hard work and putting a “friendly face” toward the customer. The Yard Person’s daily activities will vary and many times will be working under pressure to meet customer and operational demands.
